EMERA Carabanchel Nursing Home

EMERA Carabanchel is the first new development project in which this international group incorporates apartments, both single and double occupancy.
The project has been developed on some 11,650 m2, divided into a basement with a parking area, ground floor, first, second, third and fourth floors, for a total of 149 rooms, 30 of which are doubles and single occupancy the rest. In addition, there are 11 apartments on the fourth floor, 6 of them are single occupancy and 5 are doubles.
In the basement there is a very large kitchen, the laundry room, various warehouses, the wake and the burial mound, as well as a large parking lot.
On the ground floor, together with the Special Care Unit and the Reception, we have the restaurant, the hairdresser’s, Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy areas, a multipurpose room, the chapel, as well as the infirmary and the Administration and medical service areas. The Special Care Unit module comprises a 17-room area, decorated in a vintage style, so that people with dementia feel in an environment that evokes their childhood, their home...
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors, with rooms in all of them, have 2 living rooms and a dining room with large windows for each floor. On the 4th floor, where the apartments are, is where the Social Club is located.
Following EMERA’s corporate line, each floor is painted in a certain colour, for the residents to identify and locate them easily; the ground floor and the Special Care Unit, are painted in blue; the 1st floor, in green; the 2nd floor, in beige; the 3rd floor, is orange; and the 4th floor, is coral-coloured.
The decoration has been designed to be elegant and very cosy, through the use of wooden panels and furniture, as well as fabrics to give warmth to the whole. The lamps, vinyl wallpapers and selected paintings make the entire establishment a very attractive environment for residents and their families.
The building has a modern design, with two interior patios that provide plenty of light, as well as very high ceilings, both in the common areas and the corridors, providing a sense of space.
