REQUENA Y PLAZA evokes the nature of the surroundings in the hotel design, so that the stay is part of the experience of enjoying the landscape of Tenerife Island. The local identity inspires the design, with its earthy colours and arid vegetation, along with the powerful enveloping image of the sea.
The selected materials, equipment and art, merge to enhance the spatial quality. The global design has sought to enhance the feeling of space both on its most intimate scale, with design objects and props, as well as in the relationship with the surroundings, integrating and framing nature.
One of the major premises for the project was to increase the percentage of high-end rooms in the hotel, adapting their image and elements to the “The Level” standards, characteristic of the Meliá Hotels, to guarantee the most demanding guest, seeking luxury and pleasure, the best sensations and experiences in the Canary Islands.
To achieve that, our team has carefully worked on the new style and decoration of the hotel's 290 rooms.
The project has also paid great attention to achieving a first-class hotel in each and every aspect within the complete intervention, thus, the studio has carried out a profound update of the common areas and has redesigned the hotel’s gastronomic offer, which takes shape in three different restaurants whose brand identities are based on their own standards, but through their design, local character and distinction are also provided.
Therefore, at the Meliá Jardines del Teide, the studio has developed the image of three restaurants: On the one hand, Casa Nostra, that has been given an Italian personality, closely linked to the Mediterranean, but in a more Tenerife Island like arid environment; On the other hand, Pico Negro, has been designed by the studio as the first restaurant of this new brand, which provides a whole new experience in an elegant but casual style. Mosaico is the last representative of this gourmet trilogy: a top-quality product cuisine buffet, which has been rethought for better performance and comfort.
