MEDITERRANEAN PALACE

REQUENA Y PLAZA has been commissioned to transform one of the most iconic hotels in southern Tenerife, as its construction in the late 1980s was a major boost for the island's tourist offer, being one of the first "Grand Luxury" establishments.
The circular architecture of the building, open to the sea, has now undergone a complete transformation, both on the facade and inside.
The establishment has 420 double and family rooms, and 40 suites, completely renovated. The restaurant offer includes 7 themed venues, a space for congresses and meetings, as well as parties and shows. In addition to the magnificent SPA area, and an impressive 1,300 square meter pool, it also has private pools and jacuzzis on some of the terraces.
Departing from a maximum simplification of the original building's rationalist architecture, the intervention has focused on offering a hotel with fresh, luminous, and contemporary ambiences, with a clear evocation of relaxation and luxury.
White has been the primary colour. The facade, which has displayed a characteristic blue colour for three decades, has been lightened with an elegant white that transfers luminosity to the whole and, with its undulating shape, recalls the salt lake that occupied this spot on the island back in the 1970s.
The interior design and decoration incorporate identifiable textures of tropical-inspired woods and rustic woods burned by the sun. Additionally, the style is complemented by multiple details of natural fibres that evoke everything artisanal, local art, neutral fabrics, and soft colours.
The abundance of natural vegetation, both indoors and outdoors, gives the entire hotel a distinctly Amazonian feel, bringing lightness and freshness. This contrasts beautifully with contemporary furniture and lighting designs. The simplicity and elegance of the design accentuates the natural light, the sea, and the overall guest experience.
Furthermore, the common areas have been designed to be highly flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of a diverse clientele. The luxury and comfort of all spaces, combined with the hotel's extensive range of services, ensure that the Hotel Mediterranean Palace remains at the forefront of the hospitality industry.
