HACIENDA DEL MAR MEMBER OF MELIÁ COLLECTION

REQUENA Y PLAZA has participated in the transformation of the former Kempinski Hotel Bahía in Estepona into the new Hotel Hacienda del Mar member of Meliá Collection, one of the most prominent hotel projects on the Costa del Sol.
Overlooking El Padrón beach in Estepona, Hotel Hacienda del Mar member of Meliá Collection has undergone a comprehensive and extensive renovation, repositioning it within the premium segment. It features 131 rooms and suites; spacious landscaped gardens with olive, lemon and bougainvillea trees; an exclusive wellness area with swimming pools and a spa; a fitness centre; and a culinary offering that showcases the fertile local produce.
The studio has participated in the interior design project from concept to execution and furniture supply, delivering a comprehensive vision that seamlessly integrates design, functionality, comfort and user experience, all aligned with the signature standards of excellence of The Meliá Collection.
The project aims to showcase the hotel not just as a place of rest, but as a living story where Estepona’s ancient history is transformed into an experience. It invites guests on a journey through time and the senses, immersed in culture, landscape and the aromas of orange blossom and sea brine that evoke freshness and vitality, capturing the serenity of an eternal Mediterranean.
Drawing inspiration from the elegance inherent to The Meliá Collection, the design blends an expanded colour palette of whites, sands, terracottas, blues, olive greens and citrus yellows, with ceramics reminiscent of Phoenician amphorae and ancient Mediterranean maps, alongside reinterpreted mosaic work featuring fruit and botanical motifs.
The rooms and suites have been designed as genuine havens of tranquillity. The expansive spaces, interiors flooded with natural light, seamless visual links to the gardens and outdoor landscape, alongside a meticulously selected furniture collection, combine to craft an intimate and cosy experience.
Within the common areas, the spaces are envisioned for relaxation and sensory well-being, fostering an emotional bond with the environment. The Lobby Bar, the gourmet restaurant and the Beach Club all share a single purpose, where history, art and nature intertwine to deliver unforgettable experiences in an exclusive and breathtaking environment.
