El Cigarral de las Mercedes

El Cigarral de las Mercedes is an exquisite boutique hotel and event venue, in the monumental city of Toledo. As a result of REQUENA Y PLAZA’s intervention, 16 exclusive rooms with a private terrace-solarium and direct access to the garden have been set up. Conceived as a luxury and relaxation accommodation, each space has been given its own personality in terms of design and sophistication, where every element is designed for the comfort of guests.
The inspiration provided by the pre-existing buildings, the surroundings, the views of the city, and the very tradition of this unique space, led the studio team to choose a neutral and bright colour palette, following the range of limestones and whitewash; the interior woodwork is in a very matt oak, simplified to the maximum, almost minimalist; and the design of all the auxiliary furniture is in wood and wrought-iron as reference materials, along with the warm contribution of textiles, all in the range of linens and recognizable weaves such as twill and herringbone.
The access terrace and solarium are conceived as a private intersection space with the garden, as an outdoor living room, where clients have a large microcement bathtub as an ornamental wall fountain, inspired by basins or reservoirs, as well as an individual shower delimited by ceramic and wrought-iron lattice panels.
Everything designed to rest and relax in an absolutely privileged setting.
